Birdhouse

The Retronyms are a groovy bunch of iPhone developers. They have some cool apps out in the App Store, and VOX3000 is one of them. Their repertoire runs the gamut from multi person complex to short, simple, even a chimp could do it. VOX3000 is the latter app.

VOX3000 is a speech synthesizer. Just type what you want to have spoken into the keyboard and hit speak and your iPhone recites the text back to you in computer voice.

I fired up VOX3000 and immediately did what I assume everyone else does at first, I made my iPhone say "LUKE I AM YOUR FATHER", "Danger Will Robinson!", "I'm afraid I can't do that right now" (HAL), and (this one dates dates me)"BEEDEE BEEDEE BEEDEE Buck!"".

Flower Garden is a refreshingly original iPhone app. It breaks away from the traditional game mode and really rides a line between entertainment, sim, and gaming and it's end result is just plain being nice and sharing the love. I had no idea what to expect when I fired up Flower Garden for the first time, and I was very pleasantly surprised as I made my way through the process of planting, growing, caring for, and ultimately cutting and sharing my new iPhone flower garden. The concept of taking care of a sim being is very cool and one that has been extremely successful on lots of other gaming platforms. Now here is a great sim care app for the iPhone.

I knew that writing this review was going to be dangerous. Like millions out there I am all too familiar with the enormously popular productivity killer fmylife.com. With F-MyLife, like Oreos and milk or a can of Pringles, I just can't stop until I get to the end, and then I want more. Unfortunately for my productivity level with F-MyLife for the iPhone there is no end. Literally thousands and thousands of f*&^%$d up things that have happened to people just like you and me. I don't know weather I am laughing at or commiserating with these people.

Soon users will be able to share their woes with the world from their iPhones, a future version will allow uploads and comment posting. A 1.0.1 update is about to be released that will fix the crashes some users have been experiencing. So...free, simple, endlessly entertaining, addictive. No brainer, its a great entertainment app.
