I have been suffering a little lull in addictive games the last few weeks. I topped out in Space Invaders Infinity (guess it's not REALLY infinity is it guys?), mastered all of my missions in iBomber, blasted away all the creeps in Geo-Defense, know every riff in my music library thanks to MusicIQ and schooled the iPhone routinely in 10Pin Shufffle. Toobz came along the other day and grabbed my attention pretty forcefully.

My dad was a list maker and he forced it on me. He made these confusing, intricate lists using different colored pens, with lots of arrows pointing to nothing, with sub tasks and sub-sub tasks. Me, I went more for the back of the hand, damp cocktail napkin, ripped ticket stub, crumpled up dollar bill type list. Usually written down using a dull pencil. Now I show up my dad's lists with my iPhone. And I keep it simple.

Apple fans are as a whole pretty well informed people. It is impossible to be well informed and not see that we are making a huge negative impact on the earth and our atmosphere with the way we commute from one place to another. American culture has allowed the development of a transportation system that heartily encourages car use and at the same time discourages alternative transportation. While that massive problem can't be changed overnight, our USE of the car-centric system can be changed RIGHT NOW, TODAY, with just a few phone calls. I'm talking about car-pooling.

Spica is a Super Monochrome filter for your camera. Lots of other photo editing apps offer black and white conversion and monochrome filters, but this little app consistently creates the best super-contrasty images I've seen yet in the App Store.

Did you know that the new stimulus package has a part that is all about biking? In the next 20 years 825 million bucks will be spent on this country's alternative transportation infrastructure. Hopefully a lot of that money will be spent here in Boston, where being a bike commuter is downright terrifying at times. But I still do it, logging at least 14 miles a day on my bike, messenger bag strapped to my back, weaving between cars and always on the look out for that deadly door swinging open. I have a little handlebar computer that logs my mileage, speed and a few other stats, but I recently began using iMapMyRide and last week I stopped bringing my computer with me altogether.

I'm going to come right out and say that World Newspapers is a must have for any iPhone owner out there who considers themselves a news junkie. Having the NYT, WSJ, AP Mobile and BBC Reader gives you a thorough look at all of the major news topics globally, but what if you want in depth local news? There are a few apps that will select random articles near you by using the GPS feature or honing in on your zip code, but if you want to read the whole publication you have to find it through Safari- if it's even available, and you aren't going to find any foreign news.

Is there anyone in the audience named Eddie? Please stand up... ok, 25 of you. I'm sensing an Eddie in his 40's? Yes, 3 of you. I'm feeling that one of you has felt great loss recently. None of you? Great loss in the last 3 years? Yes? You? Ok, remain standing Eddie. I'm sensing that you lost a loved one, a parent. No? A child? No? A pet? Yes? I'm feeling that it was a dog? Yes a dog.....

Frosty brews, a bunch of friends, a dark corner of a pub and a shuffleboard table are key ingredients to a great evening. Shuffleboard is one of the most fun and addicting games available in any drinking establishment in the world. Usually when a game that's so great in real life is parlayed into an iPhone game it results in a near miss. This is not the case with 10 Pin Shuffle. It's been a few weeks since I have scored a truly addictive game, 10 Pin Shuffle just filled that void.

The App Store is a mess, that's a fact. There are close to 100,000 apps available at the time that this review was written, and a few weeks ago there were more than 3000 apps submitted to Apple in one week. Apple has it's work cut out to make the process of finding quality apps easier, but since they are the only vendor, they really don't have too much driving them to do that, the app consumer is always going to buy at the App Store because there is no other place to get apps.

My desk is covered in Post-Its. There are Post-Its covering every inch of space on the body of my iMac. If my MacBook stays still long enough it gathers Post-Its like moss. Both my iMac and MacBook screens are buried in Stickies at least three layers deep. I keep a pad of Post-Its next to my bed. They are stuck on my bedroom mirror and in my bathroom. On my fishtank. I'd put them on my dog if they'd stick. There are forests in the North West that I have consumed and turned into meaningless notes.
