I wasn't completely sure what Mujik was when I first decided to give it a review. Maybe that's the reason it attracted my attention, with so many uncreative and repetitive apps available, it drew my attention. I'm glad it did.

Mujik is a music application that creates trance/club/industrial music. It is really pretty amazing how such a simple app can draw you in for extended periods of time. Put the headphones on and prepare to self-dj yourself into the world of rhythm.

Mujik is kind of a mixer, that's the best way  to explain it. By moving fireflies up or down on a grid you create different rhythms with different effects. A pull down menu allows you to customize the sounds. As the fireflies open and close their wings in order from left to right across the grid a repetitive rhythm is created. There are nine books on a shelf that you can open and close to further tweak the effects that the fireflies make, and three mute buttons to silence or start different parts of the mix in whatever rhythm you choose.

I began with a very simple beat, but the intuitive nature of the app drew me into slowly building on my rhythm until I had a complex trance beat that I was grooving to. The app has a weird way of teaching you how to use it without you even knowing it.

This app is very difficult to explain, but so simple and entertaining to use. It is sure to entertain anyone who tries it out for hours at a time. The basic rhythm playing behind the effects is so entrancing time will literally melt away and you will find a half hour has passed since you first touched the app and dove into it's world of rhythm.

As always, the $0.00 price is something you just can't argue with.
