Strip stands for "Secure Tool for Recalling Important Passwords". If you are looking for a security app for passwords and other sensitive data, Strip is fit for the job. It is in effect an encrypted notepad for all of your passwords and other sensitive data like banking, legal or professional information. The official App Store category for Strip is Productivity, but it just as easily falls into the Utilities or Security genres.
Strip uses 256-bit AES encryption to protect your data securely. It has a clean, easy to use interface with plenty of options for organizing your data. If you can not find the type of label or icon you need to give an item, there is an easy customizing feature. Data can be very easily separated into genres, with multiple listings under each header. Strip has a great random password generator that appears on the options page of each new entry. The password generator utilizes the accelerometer in a cool way, shake the phone to generate passwords. There is also a full text search and you can view recently opened data files.
For me, Strip fills a void in my iPhone's functionality as a password reminder. Once I loaded it up and set my password to open the app, I started in to loading it up with all of my assorted data. I don't look into Keychain on my Mac very often, so I was surprised at how quickly I started to amass a long list of passwords, urls and serial codes. The list of password protected Wifi networks that I access on a routine basis was impressive on it's own. No more multiple attempts at login when I'm away from my computer, all that information is right there at hand anytime I need it. Having all of that data on my iPhone is an indispensable feature now that I have it.
The guys at Zenetic put a lot of thought into Strip, and it shows. This app offers some things that every iPhone user will appreciate, peace of mind, security, and data accessibility. This app immediately earned a permanent position on my iPhone's second page of apps with the other crucial utilities that I use every day. The $9.99 price tag may seem like a bit of an expense for an app, but you have to consider that this is not a game or entertainment app that will be off your phone in a week, this is a powerful data encryption tool that will serve you well into the future. Definitely shell out for it, it's a great app.
